After careful surveying and consultation with my advisors, I present to you a proposal for the defense of your realm. The core of the plan consists of the establishment of a military perimeter around Stagfell.
I wish to take and refurbish the former troll king’s lair to the south as well as the fey held tower to the west. Oleg’s former trading post, now known as the fledgling hamlet of “Leveton”, shall serve as the outpost of the north. Candlemere Island on the lake shall serve as a fourth outpost to monitor water traffic. A fifth, as of yet undetermined location will be planned as an eastern outpost.
These outposts shall serve to define our borders and act as bases from which outriders ride from. The radius from which our riders patrol from each outpost shall meet the radius of the neighboring outposts. I recommend that we have two types of patrols operating. We shall use Lord Chase’s scouts to keep a discreet watch in coordination with elements of the cavalry patrolling with your banner flying. This will give the cavalry much needed experience with maneuvers. In addition, their visible presence along our borders will legitimize our claim to these areas. We shall coordinate with Lord Chase’s forces so that his scouts will detect enemies attempting to avoid the cavalry patrols.
