Learning is never easy

It had stopped raining and now it was just coming down like a mist that covered everything as Chase finished carving another wooden toy for the big childlike ex-bandit. While Auch still seemed to be devoted to Raam, Chase had noticed as of late he was spending more time with Akiros working on Oleg's expansion. As Chase brushed some of the wood shavings off his leg he looked over at his other companion whom he had come here to see, Jhod the priest of Erastil, who was sitting next to him on the log under the sodden tarp lean to that had quickly been erected for him.

Jhod was intently staring at the scriptures written on the stone tablets that Chase had brought him from the shrine in the forest. Chase had made sure rest of the party was unaware of the smaller stone tablets that he had found outside the cave. Since the tablets were religious scripture of Erastil Chase did not feel the need to share them with the rest of the party at this time. Also since the tablets spoke about the helm he now wore as well as other lost artifacts and holy sites to Erastil that were scattered in these lands, he felt it better to keep it to himself and Jhod until he knew more. “How much of the scripture can you translate?” Chase asked as he pushed a piece of unruly hair back inside his cloak and slid his dagger back into the hidden sheath in his boot.

“Well, it is written in an older form of Sylvan then I have ever encountered.” Jhod said with a sigh. Chase looked at the man then back to the tablets, “But you can translate them?” Jhod looked at him and said, “Yes I can but it will take me a little time to be sure the translation is correct.” Chase nodded, “I understand, plus you have the work on the expansion of buildings as well as my language lesson.”

Jhod, nodded, “Yes, it is nice to be needed again.” Chase nodded with agreement as Jhod, went on “Hopefully with Erastil’s guidance we can grow this new Kingdom.” Chase nodded and with that slowly stood up waking the sleeping gray Worg pup that was resting on his boot, “Yes, but it will take more then just Erastil guidance to grow this Kingdom, It will take hard work and strong backs and I fear lots of Blood,” as Chase started off the gray Worg pup looked up at Jhod “Blood” it said as if liking the sound of the word and then followed quickly after Chase.
