Two fortnights prior to finding himself a mile outside of Restov, Zuhair al Hassein was in deep trouble at one of the most respected temples of Sarenae in the Kelesh Empire. Excessive brawling, lack of studying and frequent skipping of services had come to a head, and he was no longer welcome at the temple proper. But due to his family's high standing with the church, he was not banished or excommunicated from the order; instead, he was sent out as a missionary to the wildlands of the north to spread word of Sarenae in hopes of bringing peace to the war-torn region.

After arriving in the north, Zuhair put off his missionary duties to spend his days drinking and picking fights at the local taverns. A chance encounter lead him to meet his new friend and ally in drink, Theodrik. Down to his last handful of coppers, Zuhair accompanied Theodrik to Restov in search of coin and drink... Oh, and to convert the people of this strange land to his Lady Sarenae.
